My god these are good Annes. I’m really, really impressed by how ‘mature’ and accomplished they are. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but working al fresco in oils seems be your medium.
I’m particularly impressed by the iris/lilly leaves in the water; you’ve turned what must have been a rather mundane subject into something beautiful.

Thanks Paul :-) Yes, I feel like this is the medium I've been looking for! So I'm really glad I took the plunge.

I was quite pleased with the reeds picture, there's something quite nice starting to happen. The light on the water isn't quite working yet but I like the dark area of the reeds.

I love these paintings. They're very expressive and I love the loose brushwork. Beautiful work.

Lovely muted colour and restrained values, Annes. Glad you've discovered the joys of painting plein air. If you are interested further, here's a site you may like: http://pleineire.ning.com . Best of luck and look forward to seeing more like these.
